Please welcome Dr. Linda Peterson to our Upper School Math and Science faculty! She will be joining Mrs. Schwerer and Mr. Dinger to support our expanding Math and Science curriculum for our 4th through 8th grade students.
Dr. Peterson has 22 years experience teaching Math, Science and Technology at the Middle and High School level. She holds a B.A. in Biology, an M.S. in Secondary Education and an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology & Distance Education. Dr. Peterson served as the Science Department Chair and Technology Department Coordinator at the Canterbury School of Florida. Additionally, she was the Director of Instructional Technology at West Lake and initiated their Math program. Prior to becoming a teacher, Dr. Peterson was a clinical lab supervisor and a certified microbiologist.
The addition of Dr. Peterson will enhance the individual attention and enrichment opportunity available to meet the needs of each student. Her initial focus will be substantially in Math where Country Day’s curriculum ranges from Elementary Math to high school level Geometry. Mrs. Schwerer will continue as the lead Math Teacher for all Upper School students, while Dr. Peterson will extend our Math program through team teaching, individual/small group instruction and use of technology.
Welcome aboard Dr. Peterson!
