Star Gazing on Indian Rocks Beach

Our 4th & 5th graders and their families joined science teach Mr. Dinger for a night of star gazing at Indian Rocks Beach. The weather was perfect and with the help of 10 telescopes the sky was the limit. To the east, students were able to view the full moon. To the west, they had a clear view of the Jupiter with its four moons lined in a row.

Students were able to apply their knowledge from astronomy class and use the most up-to-date iPad applications to locate stars and constellations. One 5th grade parent expressed that it was a “great event that represented bringing together the Country Day community, nature, and technology! Fantastic!” Mr. Dinger will organize another astronomy night that will be offered to the 3rd, 4th & 5th graders. So stay posted!
