CDS Parent Takes on Important Cause

Country Day students Jodi and Sophia are very proud of their dad.  Lokey Nissan & Volkswagen General manager Jim Surrett has been living on the roof of the dealership where he works since April 4.

Why?  After Sgt. Thomas Baitinger and Officers Jeffrey Yaslowitz and David Crawford were killed in the line of duty in January and February, the auto dealership was moved to help. He is raising money for the families of three fallen St. Petersburg police officers; he will be there for 30 days, eating sleeping and working.  For each car sold in April, Lokey is contributing $500.

Mr. Surrett is setting a fine example for his daughters and the community by taking on this amazing project.  The students at Country Day collected ‘quarters in the classroom’ and donated their allowance for the cause. Click to read the whole article in the St. Pete Times.

How to help

Donations of any amount can be made through any Chase Bank to the Lokey Charities Fallen Officers’ Fund, account 3949933097. To view a tally of funds raised or to follow Surrett via webcam, go online to http://www.LokeyRoofRaiser.com
