Country Day has applied for a $25,000 grant to host a children’s art and reading festival next spring, to be called The Art of Reading. This grant will help secure popular children’s‘ book authors and illustrators for the event and also cover the cost of materials for hands on arts acitivities, writing workshops, and performances by local theater, music, and dance groups at the event. Our Students will have the opportunity to participate in book clubs, reading challenges and contests throughout the school year leading up to the event. The Art of Reading will be a free event for the community hosted at Country Day School.
We need your help to make this happen!
While voting doesn’t start until June 1, we can prepare now. Pepsi has printed codes on bottle caps and packaging for soda cans that can increase a single vote to equal 5, 10, or even 100 votes (called Power Votes)! We want to stock up on codes now to increase our votes next month. Please keep your caps and packaging with the codes and send them to school starting immediately. Send them into the classroom or drop off in the office.
We win by ‘online voting’ for our project! During the month of June, we will need your help voting everyday and getting your family and friends to vote as well. (More information will be coming soon about the project and the voting process.) For now, if you would like to learn more about the Pepsi Refresh Project, please visit www.refresheverything.com and check out the ideas that are eligible for grants this month and projects that have already received funding, and…save those Pepsi caps and the ‘power vote’ packages on Pepsi products!
This is a great idea!
If you have any questions about the project or would like to help during the month of June, we would love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org.
