Country Day Students Compete in 4H Poultry Showing

Four Country Day World School students are competing this week in the Open Purebred Poultry Show at the Florida State Fair. This competition includes the Florida State Fair Skillathon where students demonstrate skills acquired through a project record book, a project essay, a written test, an oral test and showmanship activity (with the live animal) and a project educational poster. This year’s Skillathon topic is Health Care Management. Students are categorized into three competition groups according to age. Our CDWS students represent all three classes: juniors, intermediates and seniors. The students brought their chickens, record books and posters to the Fair on Tuesday. Today Thursday, they are at the Fair working three one-hour sessions in the Ask Me Booth, where they share their projects, knowledge and chickens with the public. Friday, they will participate in the Showmanship activities, and Saturday they will take their written test. Good luck to our four awesome exhibitors! We are proud of you
